Don't Be Afraid To Specify These Things With Your Pizza Order

Whether you're ordering a pizza in person at your local pizzeria or submitting an order on an app for delivery, it can sometimes be tempting to rush through the order process because you've got a big appetite. It's useful, however, to spend an extra moment to specify some details that will ensure your pie perfectly suits your taste. Some people may not even be aware that it's possible to specify these things when you order, but many websites and apps give you the option to do so prior to the checkout process. Here are three things to specify.

Sauce Amount

If you raise the topic of sauce with a few pizza-loving friends, you'll likely get a wide range of opinions about what people feel is the perfect amount. Some pizza enthusiasts want just a light amount of sauce on their pie, while others feel that a hefty amount offers the most satisfying flavor and moistness. You can always specify how much sauce you want on your pizza as you order it. On an app or website, the three options are the regular amount, lighter than usual, and heavier than usual.

Cooking Duration

Another detail that you can share with your server or when you place an electronic order is how long you want your pizza cooked for. You don't need to know an exact time. Rather, you can simply specify whether you want it cooked a little less than standard or a little more than standard. Each option will provide a slightly different finished product, particularly when it comes to the top of the pie. For example, if you request a little extra cooking time, the cheese will be more golden brown in color and any exposed toppings will be slightly crispy on their edges.

Topping Distribution

When you think of a particular topping on your pizza, you likely imagine it being sprinkled throughout the surface of the pie. What you might not realize is that when you place your order, you can actually specify if you want a certain topping to only appear on one half of the pie. This can be ideal if you're splitting the pizza with someone and you have different topping preferences. For example, if you love olives and the other person dislikes them, you can have them appear on just one side of the pie so that the other person doesn't have to pick them off and discard them.
